Maplewood pupils in costume for a school celebration

Fine Arts is part of the Alberta Education (Canadian) Curriculum from KG1 to Grade 6, covering visual art, drama and music. At secondary level, Drama continues as part of the programme, giving students a creative outlet alongside their core academic subjects.

Creative work is treated as a genuine part of the Alberta curriculum rather than an extra, taught by our Canadian-certified teachers with the same structure and progression as any other subject.

Why choose our Fine & performing arts

Fine Arts sits inside the Alberta curriculum, with the same planning, progression and reporting as mathematics or science.
