Questions parents ask us first
No. Many of our students join from British, American, Indian and other curricula. We review recent school reports and run a short assessment to confirm the right grade placement, and our teachers support new students as they settle into Alberta classroom routines.
We accept students from KG1 through to Grade 12: Kindergarten (KG1 and KG2), Elementary (Grades 1 to 6), Middle School (Grades 7 to 9) and High School (Grades 10 to 12). For younger children, our sister nurseries take babies and toddlers from 45 days old and progress straight into KG1 at Maplewood Canadian International School.
Absolutely, and we encourage it. Book a school tour and our admissions team will walk you through the campus, introduce you to staff and answer your questions in person. You can also call +971 2 552 4223 or WhatsApp +971 50 754 7597.
A short assessment confirms the right grade placement under the Alberta programme of studies, alongside your child’s most recent school reports. Once enrolled, students in Grades 1 to 9 sit MAP assessments each October and May, Grades 6 and 9 sit Provincial Achievement Tests, and Grade 12 sits Alberta Diploma Exams.
Yes. School transport is available to all students including KG1 and KG2, one way or two way, operated by a dedicated transport team under Department of Transport regulations. You complete the transportation form during admissions.
