A new academic year begins with fresh energy, renewed purpose and a team ready to make a difference. In the week of 25 August 2026, before students returned, Maplewood staff came together for induction, training, planning and collaboration.

Induction and training
The week brought the whole team together in shared sessions, with presentations and discussion at every table as staff worked through the plans for the year.
For staff joining Maplewood this year, induction is the start of getting to know the school, its students and its ways of working. For returning staff, it is a chance to reconnect and share what they have learned.
Ready for every classroom
Alongside the sessions, teachers prepared classrooms and learning spaces for the return of students, and planned together for the year ahead.
What matters most
It was also a time to exchange ideas, strengthen our practice and align around what matters most: a supportive, inspiring and future-focused learning environment for every child.
