A new adventure has begun at Maplewood. The Maplewood Equestrian Club launched on Friday 11 September 2026, in collaboration with Baniyas Equestrian Academy, giving our students the chance to discover the joy of horse riding as part of school life.

How to join the club
Would you like your child to join the Maplewood Equestrian Club? Register your interest with the school on WhatsApp or through our enquiry form, and our team will get back to you with the details for your child.
Launch day
On launch day, horses and ponies arrived on the school field. Students of all ages came out to meet them, from our youngest learners, who were introduced to the ponies, to older students who stood alongside the horses for their first photographs with the club.
The team from Baniyas Equestrian Academy was on hand throughout, guiding students as they approached, stroked and got to know the animals.
More than riding
The club was created to help students discover the joy of horse riding, build confidence and develop skills that go beyond the saddle.
Working with horses asks for calm, patience and care. Students learn to read an animal’s mood, to move with confidence and to take responsibility for another living thing, lessons that carry straight back into the classroom.
Part of life beyond the classroom
The Equestrian Club joins the sports, arts and activities that make up life beyond the classroom at Maplewood.
